OREGON CAN NO LONGER IGNORE ITS TRUCK POLLUTION PROBLEM.

Number of Oregonians who die early because of diesel pollution each year.

What diesel pollution exposure costs Oregonians annually.

Diesel exhaust contains 40 cancer-causing substances.

Clean trucks, buses, and vans are Oregon’s transportation future. We must accelerate the transition from polluting diesel engines to affordable, reliable, zero-emissions electric vehicles.

We need the right policies in Oregon to improve health and grow our economy. Our diverse, growing coalition is working to adopt the Advanced Clean Truck and the Heavy Duty Omnibus (Low-NOx) Rules in Oregon this year, so the clean vehicles of the future arrive sooner, hauling all the benefits along with them.

CLEAN TRUCKS

This is a historic opportunity to slash pollution with strong policy.

TIME FOR OREGONIANS TO BE IN THE DRIVER SEAT

Oregon has long been a dumping ground for old, dirty diesel engines, making us one of the worst states for diesel pollution.

Our toxic air contributes to climate change while affecting children, the elderly, low-income, and Black, indigenous, and communities of color worst, who are disproportionately located next to highways, ports and other pollution hot spots.

Let’s grab the wheel and lead the way on a new road, with zero-pollution and miles of opportunities.

“For so many years, we’ve gotten climate action wrong. Here’s our chance to get it right. Diesel pollution is causing a disproportionate health crisis in Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities. It’s high time we accelerate the adoption of clean trucks and fight for a just transition like our lives depend on it,
because they do.”
— Aimée Okotie-Oyekan, NAACP Eugene/Springfield
“The urgency with which we transition to clean trucks must reflect the urgency of the health crisis caused by transportation pollution today.”
— Mary Peveto, Neighbors for Clean Air.
“Securing Oregon’s swift and orderly transition to an electric truck future while slashing diesel truck pollution is a public health, equity, and climate imperative that can grow the economy and lead to quality jobs.”
— Victoria Paykar, Climate Solutions
